SPOILER: Even If Trump Wins Ohio, Bernie Will Still Beat Him In The Electoral College 348-182
CBS News released their new YouGov poll yesterday. There was a great deal of information but what I found the most important measured the enthusiasm level for the various candidates in Iowa. Remember, a caucus is not a primary. Caucus goers change their minds after arguments from their neighbors. And when initial voting is concluded, anyone who doesn't get 15% is eliminated and their supporters can go vote for someone else on the next ballot. The graphic above, shows the first choices. Who will Amy Klobuchar's and Elizabeth Warren's backers gravitate to when they are eliminated in... more »

Kellogg Pledges To End Pre-Harvest Use of Weedkiller Glyphosate on Grains – Too Little Too Late?
Last year (2019), a report published by The Environmental Working Group (EWG) showed that virtually all of America’s breakfast cereals, consumed primarily by children, are contaminated with the toxic herbicide, glyphosate. Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Monsanto’s RoundUp, and has been linked to cancer. Juries in recent court cases have awarded billions of dollars in damages to cancer victims who were exposed to glyphosate. This week, EWG is reporting that Kellogg is pledging to stop using glyphosate in the harvesting of grains by 2025. Kellogg's pledged to work with its wh... more »

Finding an old letter—metastatic breast cancer
This is probably a re-run—at least I found it on Facebook and I often double post. I looked for it because I’ve been cleaning out my desk and found a local’ friend’s letter written from Tennessee after her daughter’s death. Her daughter was 61 and she was 90. She didn’t expect to bury her daughter or have to move out of state to settle her estate. The friend died a few months ago, and although I’m not a hoarder, I did tuck her letter back in the drawer. In reply to Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr
I have one comment on today's presentations. As a preface, I do not believe that the House managers have met their burden of proof to establish the President's guilt. (Though I am interested in hearing what John Bolton has to say.) I believe, though, that both Professor Dershowitz and Judge Starr made a significant error in their legal arguments to the Senate. Both men claimed today that the "weight of authority" supports their view that no abuse of power by the President (without a violation of law) can be an impeachable offense. Professor Dershowitz relied heavily on the argument ... more »

The Story of a Civilization
The story of a civilization is not a novel—it’s an anthology of short stories, many of which are unconnected with each other. A vast array of manmade, natural, and chance related events and factors play a role in the rise and fall of a civilization. No philosopher or historian can faithfully capture the cause and the consequence of these events and factors. To have a modicum of understanding of a civilization, you have to examine not only its books of history and philosophy but also the symbols that enable its people to identify with their civilization: their politics, religion, rit... more »

The law doesn't apply to Democrats: California abortion funding edition
The Democrats in California are forcing religious organizations, like Catholic nuns and Protestant churches, to support abortion. The problem is that's against the law; specifically the Weldon Amendment. That Amendment says that health care entities can't be punished for not providing abortion coverage. But of course the Democrats in CA said that didn't matter. Now Trump's HHS has notified the Democrats that they're going to lose millions of dollars of federal funding if they continue to break the law. Clearly Democrats second love is money, their first love is power, so this may ... more »

Swamp Monsters in the Bureaucracy | Behind The Deep State
[image: alex-newman-swamp-monsters-in-the-bureaucracy-behind-the-deep-state] VIDEO - In this episode of Behind the Deep State, host Alex Newman digs into the "Deep State" operating within the federal bureaucracy. These operatives, especially in the Senior Executive Service, are working to undermine the U.S. Constitution, persecute enemies, wage war on Trump, and continue America's decline into statism and globalism. They love Hillary Clinton and total federal power. And they have powerful tools at their disposal to destroy those who stand in their way.
Neoconservative U.K. Think Tank Urges Gov to Silence Politically Incorrect Conservatives
[image: neoconservative-uk-think-tank-urges-gov-to-silence-politically-incorrect-conservatives] Could you imagine getting 15 years in prison for relating true but politically incorrect ideas online? This could happen if a British think tank and government agency have their way.
Bolton says Trump may have thought bad thoughts; not that Trump did anything bad
One of two three things is true; Bolton is lying, Bolton is telling the truth and saying that Trump wanted to hold up aid until Ukraine investigated Russian election interference in 2016, or Bolton is telling the truth that Trump wanted to hold up aid until Ukraine investigated Biden. And yes Virginia the #FakeNews media is creating a scandal even though they don't know if Bolton is talking about investigating Biden or investigating Russian election interference. Of those three options only the last one would be relevant to the Democrats impeachment fantasy. The problem is all Bol... more »

by Jon Rappoport January 25, 2020 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…history matters. When you see a new story on the horizon, and it looks a lot like an old story you know was a hoax, you have to dig up that history and report it. Yes, many people hate history. … Continue reading Some perspective on what health agencies like the CDC and WHO will do to pump up the idea (not the reality) of an epidemic →

America less racist under Trump than under Obama
Gallup asked Americans if they were satisfied about the state of certain aspects of life in America. On every singe issue more Americans are satisfied now than at the end of President Obama's reign. But what's really interesting is that Trump has nearly doubled the fraction of Americans who are satisfied about the state of race relations. This is to be expected since Obama pursued racist policies designed to make Blacks feel persecuted while Trump has pursued race neutral policies to improve the economic outlook of all Americans.
America's F-35 Has Some Problems, And Iran Has Taken Notice
*David Axe* *Security, Middle East* Could Iran shoot one down? *Key Point:* Stealth puts it at an advantage, but the F-39 has some weaknesses. Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, in part resulting from U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision unilaterally to withdraw the United States from the 2015 deal limiting Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. armed forces have deployed a wide array of ships, planes and other weapons to the Middle East. The American arsenal in the region includes F-35 stealth fighters. If tensions turn into warfare, the factory-fresh F-3... more »
Made in Minneapolis: The Prince Story
*Rashad Shabazz* *History, Americas* [image: Reuters] Prince did not come of age in a vacuum. He was raised within the sonic landscape of a city that had a rich tradition of musical education, experimentation and innovation. It’s been almost four years since Prince’s death, but fascination about the artist, the man and his mythology endures. On Jan. 28, Alicia Keys, the Foo Fighters, Usher and several of Prince’s collaborators will be paying tribute to the late musician in a special concert, “Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince,” in Los Angeles. 80 Years of Dominance: How the Air Force's B-52 Bomber Keeps on Flying
*David Axe* *Security, Americas* [image: https://www.dvidshub.net/image/5832513/b-52s-begin-bomber-task-force-missions] 100 years coming next? *Key point:* The military likes its weapons systems to last a long time and the B-52 is no different. The Air Force keeps upgrading them and plans to keep them active for years to come. For the second time in four years, the U.S. Air Force *has pulled* an old B-52 heavy bomber from storage at the Pentagon’s airplane “boneyard” in Arizona and upgraded the once-dormant plane for active service. The Air Force’s effort to regenerate the eigh... more »
The Iran Illusion: The Threat to America's Security Comes from Great-Power Problems, Not Tehran
*Enea Gjoza* *Security, Middle East* [image: Reuters] In the age of great-power competition, the Middle East is a distraction. In a missile strike in Baghdad this month, U.S. forces killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the architect of Iran’s regional influence operations and arguably its second most powerful figure. Iran quickly promised “forceful revenge” in the form of a military response, and has since launched missile strikes on U.S. targets in Iraq—thankfully, no casualties have been reported. Still, this does not mean safety is guaranteed indefinitely for the more t... more »
Bolton Is Succeeding Where the NeverTrumpers Failed
*Jacob Heilbrunn* *Politics, Americas* [image: Reuters] Bolton, a past master at Washington intrigue, has played his cards shrewdly all along. He has managed steadily to build up the anticipation around his $2 million book deal, culminating in yesterday’s bombshell news that he dishes extensively on the actions of Trump and his confederates about the attempt to push Ukraine to provide damaging information about Joe and Hunter Biden. The revelation that former national security adviser John Bolton extensively details his dealings with President Donald Trump on Ukraine in his fort... more »
The Political Hijacking of Religious Principles
*Patrick Mendis* *Politics, Americas* [image: Reuters] Despite the absence of any evidence of Christian and American values, this cohort of Christian nativists has come to consider the highly divisive president as their “savior” even though he started his disruptive presidency with the banning of Muslim immigrants from select Arab countries, building a wall on the Mexican border, and decrying people of color and disability as well as any foreign nation or ally he disliked. Soon after the American airstrikes killed Iran’s Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani in Iraq, Tehran leaders vowed to... more »

What will Russia do to continue and raise the pressure? Russia is escalating up its efforts to essentially annex Belarus while also strengthening its grip on eastern Ukraine by offering Russian citizenship to many Ukrainians. "Fate..."
"I've heard fate talked of. It's not a word I use. I think we make our own choices. I think how we live our lives is our own doing, and we cannot fully hope on dreams and stars. But dreams and stars can guide us, perhaps. And the heart's voice is a strong one. Always is. Your heart's voice is your true voice. It is easy to ignore it, for sometimes it says what we'd rather it did not - and it is so hard to risk the things we have. But what life are we living, if we don't live by our hearts? Not a true one. And the person living it is not the true you." - Susan Fletcher
