Studies Reveal Some Surprising Health Benefits Of Smoking Marijuana

Edmondo Burr at Your News Wire - 6 hours ago
Medical marijuana has been commonly used for cancer, chronic pain, inflammation, nausea, glaucoma and many other ailments for thousands of years, although it must be said that cancer did not exist a few generations ago. In recent times thanks to the hippie movements of the 1960’s and the promotion of the illicit drug, a lot of research has been done on the cannabis plant, producing amazing positive results that have baffled the modern medical fraternity, who commonly depend on the pharmaceutical industry for their directives in study and prescription. It's really hard to come up with something in a newspaper that says nothing. Today, the big, front page news flash is that a local politician has refused to tell reporters whether he expects to be in the new, federal cabinet. Reporters asked "Can you tell us?" He said, "no". Are you wondering how the reporter could get a full story of that? The answer is, she couldn't. Nobody could. Most of the story is actually about a provincial government meeting. The story tells us that the conferees sat around a table, and had their pictures taken. That's it. There is a good story, part of a ... more »

Study: Processed Food Causes Same Addiction As Hard Drugs

Beware The Trojan Horse Of "Rewards" With Noncompetes

Donna Ballman at Screw You Guys, I'm Going Home - 17 hours ago
Your boss and HR deliver the great news: the company loves and appreciates you. It wants to reward you. Maybe they're "giving" you a retention bonus, stock, options, or some other reward that sounds like a heap of money for free. But beware. It may be a Trojan Horse. If it sounds too good to be true, it could be really, really bad. Lately, I'm seeing more and more so-called "rewards" coupled with noncompete agreements. Employees that were free to leave and work for a competitor are being lured into signing an agreement that they won't work for a competitor for a year or two after th... more »

"This is a start," said the official, speaking to defense reporters during a background brief. "You shouldn't rule out anything. We'll adjust once we get a better sense of who's on the ground, their capability and what's actually needed." U.S. Strategy Is Failing (Again) In Iraq

The top image is the actual logo of the KMT Presidential campaign: "One Taiwan: Taiwan is power!" As the bottom image shows, the logo is already getting extensively parodied. The older generation may consider such things unseemly or even dangerous -- it's hard to get out of the mindset of living in a security state when you've incorporated it into your social identity -- but the younger generation pounces on easy meat like this with gleeful abandon. *They* weren't socialized during the security state era. Most Mysterious Star in Our Galaxy

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
It does not surprise me that a crushed planet can provide a large debris ring. That is obvious. However to crush a planet and to place the debris in a stable orbit is a real trick for stellar dynamics which appears highly unlikely Yet this occurrence is already at extremely low probability so that may not be a stretch. Other systems already demonstrate unusual levels of messiness as compared to our own. In comparison, ours is generally well ordered and likely represents direct intelligent manipulation as well that may well have cleaned it up. What we have seen so far is a... more »

I do not know what conditions apply to produce a prosecutor who willfully does thi*s*. It should be naturally impossible but something has changed that. What is the incentive? A Massive National Security Leak Just Blew the Lid off Obama's Drone War

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
What jumps out is that they do not know who they are killing at all most of the time and that the results are seriously inadequate. There needs to be a rule change. We need to know the name. That will end the pressure to shoot first. We may even acquire actionable intelligence at the same time. Folks need to be reminded that innocents are not a shooting gallery and such casualties naturally produce more enemies. The drone is a wonderful war tool not so is the gun. Both need target surety at least and that demands patience. From the numbers quoted, it is plausible that t... more »

3 Lessons Horses Can Teach Us

This is an excellent description of the known potential communion between a person and a horse. It is also a marked reminder that the animal kingdom typically communicates in this manner. By the way, i suspect that the body language factor is merely an assist as we often use our hands. Certainly doing mind to mind at a full gallop is about the only way to do it all well. Again i have posted in the past that i suspect that the Fall from Eden 45,000 years ago happened when mankind lost its ability to use mind to mind to dominate other animals. After all there is scant risk f... more »
