Saturday Night Sexy: EIU calls China’s “Military White Paper” public relations & a Japanese girl feeling the China heat

The Thai military is the master of public relations and psychological warfare work.
Do not believe Thai Intel?
How else and which other country can the military kill off about 100 protesters like Thailand, then the Thai army chief, Prayuth, can say something like, quote: “No matter who comes to power in Thailand, I will be the military chief.”
Then how can any general, like Prayuth, say something before the killing like-the Red Shirts are the enemy of Thailand that must be destroy and that the sight of anyone wearing red makes me sick-and still pass the mental stability test to become one of the most powerful man of Thailand.
“Yes” if Thailand was a developed county and the Thais are developed people, Prayuth would never make it pass the rank of a captain!
But then it looks like the Chinese military is learning a great deal from Thailand, on public relations and psychological warfare!

Foreign Policy States the Following:
Although Japan and China have close economic ties, their diplomatic relations have been strained by clashing interests and cultural friction. The United States has an important role to play in promoting cooperation between Tokyo and Beijing and helping them adjust to a new phase in East Asia’s history.

China and Japan, the giants of Asia, account for nearly three-quarters of the region’s economic activity and more than half of the region’s military spending. Despite their deep economic ties and a doubling of their bilateral trade in the past five years, their relationship is increasingly strained, with dangerous implications for the United States and the world at large.
China has nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles, and its military budget has grown by double-digit rates for 17 consecutive years. Although Japan has a relatively low military profile, with its “no-war” constitution and strong alliance with the United States, its defense-relevant technology is sophisticated and it has recently become more proactive. The stage is now set for a struggle between a mature power and a rising one.
The Economist Intelligence Unit States the Following:
China releases its biennial military white paper. Aimed at foreign audiences, it is more about PR than transparency

............................
Compared to many countries in the world, China’s military spending is moderate considering its vast territory, colossal population and long coastlines. In 2008, its military spending was about one tenth that of the United States.
The new edition of the defense white paper is a timely response to the international finger pointing aimed at China’s growing military might. China is used as a pretext by some countries to justify their own military ambitions.
China’s move to modernize its defense forces has been regarded as a threat by some ill-intentioned people and politicians.
Before finding fault with others, they would do better to look at the military spending of the US, which has military bases all over the world and rarely thinks twice before launching military actions against another sovereign state.
