New Wintering Grounds for Humpback Whales Discovered Using Sound
The primary breeding ground for the North Pacific was always thought to be the main Hawaiian Islands (MHI). However, a new study has shown that these grounds extend all the way throughout the Hawaiian Archipelago and into the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (NWHI), also known as Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument (PMNM).

10 Common Misconceptions about PTSD
Therapy doesn’t work: Therapy does work. It educates the PTSD sufferer about the trauma and its psychological effects, and enables a mental health professional to find ways to neutralize the symptoms to the best of their abilities. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is often used, including exposure therapy, cognitive restructuring and stress inoculation training. Exposure therapy enables the patient to face and control their fear. Cognitive restructuring helps the patient realistically evaluate bad memories and deal with them in a healthy manner. Stress inoculation training teaches the patient to reduce anxiety and thus the PTSD symptoms.

It’s Official: Tunisia Now Freer than the U.S.
Posted on 03/08/2011 by JuanTunisian Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi announced on Monday the dissolution of the country’s secret police arm. This step toward democracy is the most important taken by any Arab country for decades.
Tunisia’s interim government also abolished the ‘Ministry of Information,’ which had been in charge of censorship, allowing a free press to flourish.
Not only were people not to be spied upon by the government without a warrant, but warrants were not to be issued without probable cause.
The US government thinks our private emails are actually public. The FBI and NSA routinely read our email and they and other branches of the US government issue security letters in the place of warrants allowing them to tap phones and monitor whom we call, and even to call up our library records and conduct searches of our homes without telling us about it.

Wise County family says drilling forced them to leave home
more than 50 wells around their home in recent years poisoned their blood, caused various ailments and forced them to move out.
Lisa and Bob Parr said they have suffered a two-year nightmare because of the drilling activity around their 40-acre property in Allison, a farm community in eastern Wise County. More than 50 natural gas wells have been drilled within two miles of the property, according to the suit.
The couple blames spills of hazardous waste and emissions of toxic gases from production tanks and various industrial equipment for their health problems. The suit lists more than 20 symptoms the family has experienced since 2008, including nosebleeds, migraines, open sores, heart arrhythmia, abdominal pain and coughing.
The suit's charges include assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and gross negligence.
