Who-- Meaning What Government-- Was Immad Zuberi Working For?
You probably never heard of venture capitalist Immad Zuberi-- unless you
work for political campaigns hungry for money. He has been a cash cow,
mostly for Republicans, but for corporate Democrats as well. The Feds got
him after he donated $900,000 to Trump's inaugural committee-- a bribe that
went right into Trump's pockets. Yesterday, the Justice Depratment
announced that he pleading guilty "to multiple federal charges, including
tax evasion and concealing his work as a foreign agent as he lobbied
high-level U.S. government officials." But not for the Trump contributions.

Can tariffs have a deflationary impact?

market reactions to […]

doctrine of human perfectibility which found a way of migrating to other

The Poet: Robert Frost, "Into My Own"
*"Into My Own"*
"One of my wishes is that those dark trees,
So old and firm they scarcely show the breeze,
Were not, as ’twere, the merest mask of gloom,
But stretched away unto the edge of doom.
I should not be withheld but that some day
Into their vastness I should steal away,
Fearless of ever finding open land,
Or highway where the slow wheel pours the sand.
I do not see why I should e’er turn back,
Or those should not set forth upon my track
To overtake me, who should miss me here
And long to know if still I held them dear.
They would not find me changed from him t... more »

thing you want so much, because you Can. Not. Have. It. So there's this

“Remember remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.”
Everyone in the UK celebrates Guy Fawkes Day on the 5th of November. We

"On Your Own Terms..."
"If the sun is shining, stand in it - yes, yes, yes. Happy times are great,
but happy times pass - they have to - because time passes. The pursuit of
happiness is more elusive; it is life-long, and it is not goal-centered.
What you are pursuing is meaning - a meaningful life... There are times
when it will go so wrong that you will be barely alive, and times when you
realize that being barely alive, on your own terms, is better than living a
bloated half-life on someone else's terms."

The Logic of the Labour Leavers
When it comes to Labour MPs, it's wise not to place too much hope in them.
This way you'll never get disappointed. So when I glanced over the list of
Labour honourable members who voted with the government to give Boris
Johnson's new Brexit deal its second reading, the red mist stayed well
clear. It was more a sense of world weary disappointment. Nevertheless, as
cathartic ranting away on social media can be, it's not entirely helpful.
For one calling Labour MPs who, you hope, will eventually end up voting the
right way isn't going to speed their journey to the side of the angels.
