Study Finds Psychiatric Diagnosis to be ‘Scientifically Meaningless’
A new study, published in Psychiatry Research, has concluded that psychiatric diagnoses are scientifically worthless as tools to identify discrete mental health disorders. The study, led by researchers from the University of Liverpool, involved a detailed analysis of five key chapters of the latest edition of the widely used Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), on ‘schizophrenia’, ‘bipolar disorder’, ‘depressive disorders’, ‘anxiety disorders’ and ‘trauma-related disorders’. The authors conclude that diagnostic labelling represents ‘a disingenuous categorical system’.

"We Must Marvel..."
"In our society, confidence leads to knowledge - which leads to power - which leads to pride - which leads to a fear of seeming ignorant - which constricts learning like an iron vise. We must understand that confidence is a blessing, for it is the embodiment of self-love, and through it we find the fuel for innovation and progress. We must realize that ignorance is merely the opportunity to learn more. And lastly, we must marvel rather than groan at the fact that there will always be more to learn. Only then will we be free of the intellectual prisons we have so readily caged ourse... more »

Without that dream, there would be no love, for every act of love is in some way a promise to forgive. Plesiosaurs: Four-Paddled Vortex Swimmers
Plesiosaurus were large, carnivorous air-breathing marine reptiles with strong jaws and sharp teeth that moved through the water with four flippers. In terms of mechanical design, they have a little something in common with dragonflies. read more

A Korean Peace Treaty Would Create a Constitutional Crisis
