*"Being Hard On Ourselves: A Bad Habit"* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "When we are hard on ourselves, we send our bodies the message that we are not good enough. One of the key components of human consciousness that most of us need to address and change is our tendency to be hard on ourselves. We do this in ways that are both overt and subtle, and half the work sometimes is recognizing that we are doing it at all. For example, if we find it difficult to graciously accept compliments, this is probably a sign that we tend to be hard on ourselves. Other ways in which we express this ... more »

Welcome to the Shit Show

jurassicpork at Welcome Back to Gotham City - 8 hours ago
(By *American Zen*'s Mike Flannigan, on loan from Ari) *Y*ears ago, I once took my family to King Richard's Faire, a standing Ren Faire in Carver, Massachusetts about 45 minutes east of Providence, Rhode Island. Among the fake jousting by fake knights and buxom women displaying their mammary wares in medieval costumes were the performers. Among them was an act called The Mud Show. And as with all the entertainment (who are not paid by the Ren Faire itself and have to subsist on donations from the crowd. AdminM at Health Impact News - 8 hours ago
In 2015, in spite of widespread public opposition, California became the first state in the U.S. to remove a philosophical and religious exemption for childhood vaccines as a requirement for school attendance. The bill was authored by Dr. Richard Pan, with strong ties to the pharmaceutical industry. California is now one of only 3 states in the U.S. to not allow parents the choice to opt out of vaccines for their children (Mississippi and West Virginia are the other two, and apparently never had parent exemptions.) The only way to get a vaccine exemption in these three states today... more »
