All of us have gotten used to the beheading of people in the Muslim world. Sadly, it was often the real people who were beheaded – such as Western visitors or this 12-year-old boy. Our ancestors enjoyed similar exercises some 700 years ago – and in some cases, much more recently. The Muslim world is still socially living in the Middle Ages so we shouldn't be surprised that certain practices look disturbing to us. Some two years ago, this culture has spread to a country that is much closer to us, Ukraine. Here, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Western Ukraine, people burn an effigy of Putin and c...more »

*Another brainless Warmist overgeneralization* *It never stops. Warmists point to some unusual event somewhere and conclude from that that the globe is warming. But climate is NOT uniform. The temperature can be rising in one place while it is falling elsewhere. And that is what we see below. I have to quickly say something about the Trump / Netanyahu press conference. I happened to watch it on Sky. As soon as it was over, Kay Burley immediately said something about ‘settlements’, which demonstrates the media’s reflexive reaction to anything to do with Israel and the Palestinians, (and no wonder, the way the propaganda machine has been working at it.) I didn’t even bother to switch to the BBC to see if their response was similar. The first to review it (when I Googled straight away) was the Washington Post. They picked one particular stand-out moment, which I must sa...more »

Mr Sinwar was jailed in Israel for murder but freed under a deal when Hamas released an Israeli in 2011. Winston Churchill was one of the most consequential leaders of the 20th century. Some months ago, I watched a movie about him that claimed that Churchill did many of the impressive things in order to prove to his father that he was no loser. It worked rather well because I don't have a clue who his father was. Aside from the successful resistance to the Third Reich, Churchill supervised the construction of the British radar and their nuclear program. His focus on science and technology in warfare was self-evident. As early as in 1931, he wrote a text estimating the amazing power hid...more »
