Of the 436 killed and 1,108 wounded during the month in the province 324 of the dead and 1,060 of the injured were due to bombs. The Islamic State has vastly...more »

Stephen Pollard has a must read article in the JC http://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/142144/the-key-questions-jeremy-corbyn-must-answer The key questions and why Jeremy Corbyn should answer them are repeated here: 'If Mr Corbyn is not to be regarded from the day of his election as an enemy of Britain's Jewish community, he has a number of questions which he must answer in full and immediately. The JC asked him earlier this week to respond. No response has been forthcoming. 1. Did you donate, as alleged by its founder, to Deir Yassin Remembered (DYR), a group that publishes open ...more »
*Bloomberg:* *Ukraine Says Attacks on Troops Intensify as Unrest Worsens* *Ukraine said pro-Russian militants intensified attacks on government troops overnight in a bid to win ground, a sign the recent surge in fighting is worsening.* Tensions in the 16-month conflict rose this week as the army reported renewed assaults on a village in the Donetsk region, an accusation the separatists deny. That prompted Ukraine to redeploy heavy artillery there that was removed under a February peace accord. The rebels, who control large swathes of the former Soviet republic’s easternmost regio...more »
This Robert Peston analysis of Jeremy Corbyn's economic policies http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33884836 contains this thought: 'Even so his opposition to this government's planned cuts to corporation and inheritance tax, and his muscular hatred of tax avoidance and evasion, are not the stuff of swivel-eyed Leninism. There are plenty of political moderates who question why, at a time of scarce resources, it is a priority for messrs Cameron and Osborne to give tax breaks to better-off dead people.' Is cutting inheritance tax really a tax break for dead people? Surely the only ...more »

I wanted to title this post: "EPA: Environmental Terrorists" because of their LACK OF RESPONSE on the Colorado mine disaster that is POISONING the Animas River, which ends up in Lake Powell before emptying out into the COLORADO River. I didn't include that title because I still believe that there are many committed scientists and administrative staff who work for the EPA who want to protect the environment and human health. The problem is they are NO WHERE to be seen. Instead, we get to hear from lame and obviously cognitively impaired spokespeople who tell the media everything is...more »

Whenever you are going to be in Court there are some basic rules you should follow. These rules apply in every Court regardless of whether you are going to be a witness or a party. The rules apply whether you are going to small claims court, traffic court, being a witness in divorce court or you are on trial for first degree murder. First, always tell the truth. This isn't just some goody-two shoes comment – it's very important to tell the truth. Lies will be caught out in a flash and once you are seen to have lied about something, even a small thing, nothing you say will have much ...more »

*"A Warning To My Readers"* by Wendell Berry "Do not think me gentle because I speak in praise of gentleness, or elegant because I honor the grace that keeps this world. It seems Muldoon was heckled by an audience member who claimed that what he was reading wasn't poetry. Muldoon replied: "It doesn't come naturally to me to defend these things as poems. “The worst that could happen to us is that we have to die, and since that is already our unalterable fate, we are free; those who have lost everything no longer have anything to fear.” “Death is our eternal companion. Whenever he feels that everything is going wrong and he’s about to be annihilated, he can turn to his death and ask if that is so. His death will tell him that he is wrong, that nothing really matters outside its touch. His death will tell him, ‘I haven’t touched yo...more »
*"Things We Don’t Want to Do: Outside the Comfort Zone"* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "Doing things we don't want to do, or that scare us, creates flow in our lives and allows us to grow. Most of us have had the experience of tackling some dreaded task only to come out the other side feeling invigorated, filled with a new sense of confidence and strength. The funny thing is, most of the time when we do them, we come out on the other side changed and often wondering what we were so worried about or why it took us so long. We may even begin to look for other tasks we’ve been avoidi...more »
*“Ignorance Is Bliss”* by Michael Brenner “Factual information is out of fashion. American society now devalues it. Subjective attitude and opinion are considered to be as worthy as accurate renderings of reality. Many wear their ignorance as a badge of honor. The ultimate freedom for them is to avoid needless bother in knowing the truth and distinguishing it from falsity. Some of this behavior is calculated and intentional; much of it is blind indulgence of convenience and prejudice. These behaviors are commonplace among our officials, politicians, commentariat, and the citizenry...more »
*“Central Banks Are Beginning to Lose Control”* by Phoenix Capital Research “Since 2008, the Keynesians running global Central Banks had always suggested that there was no problem too great for them to handle. They’d promised to do “whatever it takes,” to maintain the financial system and print the world back to growth. Thus far, we’d seen some pretty aggressive moves. The most aggressive was committed by the Bank of Japan, which announced a single QE program equal to 24% of Japanese GDP in April 2013. However, the SNB was the first Central Bank to actually reach the point at which...more »
The welfare weenies are slowly realising that the rent subsidy they pay to beneficiaries does little more than, guess what, go to subsidise higher rents – leaving landlords better off and beneficiaries as far behind the 8 ball as before. BREAKING NEWS!! This could be some serious shit my friends. Massive explosion in China, just east of Beijing at the port city of Tianjin. TWO explosions, one after the other. The first was reported by the official Chinese news as being the equivalent of 3 tons of TNT, followed by a second explosion that was much bigger, the equivalent of 21 tons of TNT. As we mentioned yesterday, the right-of-center, Wall Street-owned New Dems are making a play to assert themselves within the Democratic congressional caucus. They are following in the footsteps of the Tony Blair New Labour wing of the UK's Labour Party, which took over the party but has more recently lost support by inching further and further right. The New Labour dominance may be ending, though.
