"A good day"? If it happened to Dilbert, it could happen to you! (But maybe not to me, I think?)
*DILBERT by Scott Adams -- August 13* *Click to enlarge. And wait, there's more!* *by Ken* Yesterday morning, I think it was, yes I'm pretty sure it was yesterday, or almost sure (it seems somehow longer ago), I had the strange but unmistakable sensation of having a good day. Felt OK, work was OK, no personal disasters that I was aware of were impending. (Non-personal disasters didn't count. That was maybe kind of the point.) So naturally I flashed back to Dilbert's recent good day. Today I don't remember much more than what I just told you about that "good day" sensation -- what ... more »
Washington Created ISIS In Iraq, As It Created Al-Qaeda In Afghanistan, To Pose As The Saviour
*"The lesson of the rise of the IS is that sustained U.S. engagement in the Middle East is essential to stability and progress.* Many may wish to turn their backs on the region, but the costs of doing so have already proven higher than those of a smart engagement strategy. This lesson implies that we should keep a residual force in Afghanistan beyond 2016 and that shaping the region in positive ways will require presence and active management of partnerships across the region." - *Zalmay Khalilzad, "A Five-Step Plan to Destroy the Islamic State" The National Interest, August 22, 20... more »
Meaningful Punishment
Seeing reports in the New York Times today on further Russian aggression in Ukraine has me thinking about Ely Ratner and Elizabeth Rosenberg’s recent article entitled “Pointless Punishment?” where they argue that Western sanctions on Russia are at best pointless and at worst counterproductive. I think Ratner and Rosenberg (R&R henceforth) have a valid point Continue reading
Civil Summary Judgment
Density Group Limited v. HK Hotels LLC, 2014 ONCA 605:(1) SUMMARY JUDGMENT UNDER* HRYNIAK* [53] As noted above, the Supreme Court's decision in* Hryniak* greatly expands the use of the summary judgment process for the resolution of civil disputes. [54] The decision makes it clear that the new fact-finding powers available to judges under Rules 20.04 (2.1) and (2.2) are discretionary and presumptively available: para. 45. Will IS Strike Willis?
The global 9/11 truth and justice community has been warning the world for over five years that a future false flag terror target in the United States to be blamed on a radical Islamist group is the Willis Tower in Chicago, formerly known as the Sears Tower. MetLife Inc. sold the Willis tower to personalities connected to Larry Silverstein and the ownership of the WTC. A more disturbing fact is that the company responsible for Willis Tower's security is the same company that was in charge of the WTC's security on 9/11. So, there are enough reasons to be suspicious and on guard. R... more »

ISRAEL’S ENDGAME FOR GAZA MOVES CLOSER
It seems that a full-on invasion of the Gaza Strip, Israel’s ultimate endgame plan for the Palestinian enclave, is moving inexorably closer to realisation. Israel again has called up thousands of reservists and Israel’s Communications Minister and security cabinet member, Gilad Erdan, has announced that Israel is close to being in a position to launch a full invasion. Erdan asked that Israelis be patient. Erdan also made it clear that Israel will not be conceding to any of Hamas’s demands inferring that Israel had no even considered any of Hamas’s demands which were put forward ... more »

"The Human Condition"
*"The Human Condition"* by Meanings of Life "Man remains largely unknown of himself. What are we, in our innermost recesses, behind our names and our conventional opinions? What are we behind the things we do in our lives, behind what we see in others and what others see in us, or even behind things science says we are? Is man the crazy being about whom Carl Gustav Jung spoke ironically, when he demanded a man to treat? Is man the Dr. Jerkyll that contains in himself a criminal Mister Hyde, and more than a personality, and contradictory feelings? Are we the result of our dreams, as... more »

“We are sons of the cosmos, but our conscience, our soul, make us strangers in that same cosmos, from which we were produced, and which still remains secretly intimate to us. Earth life is unique, or at least particularly rare in the cosmos, and our conscience is perhaps solitary in the living world. Man is a marginal creation in the animal world, the development of which has increased his marginality. We are alone on the Earth, among the known living beings. Our thought, our conscience, gives us knowledge of the physical world, but simultaneously drives it away from us.” - E. Morin... more »

They wanted to be able to speak their historic Russian language and not have it banned by Kiev. They want the Nazi's running the show in Kiev to stop killing them.

Researcher and Harvard professor, Chengsheng (Alex) Lu, has been outspoken about the effects of neonicotinoid pesticides and their contribution to colony collapse disorder. Especially so, since conducting his own tests for a number of years now. But he now warns that a pollinator drop could be the least our worr... more »
When ‘Anti-Government’ Violence Erupts, Who Is Really At Fault?
Brandon Smith This past week, I have been examining a recently leaked document from the Department Of Homeland Security entitled “Domestic Violent Extremists Pose A Threat To Government Officials And Law Enforcement.” (Yes; the title leaves nothing to the imagination.) Generally, such documents are not classified. But it is internally accepted within establishment agencies that they should not be shared with the public. Similar documents like the Missouri Information Analysis Center report titled “The Modern Militia Movement” and the Virginia Fusion Center’s Terrorism Threat Asse... more »
Advice for the secret CDC vaccine whistleblower
image source Jon Rappoport I have been writing about the CDC research scientist who may be about to step out of the shadows and reveal himself— He was, a decade ago, part of the CDC team who suppressed data showing a clear connection between the MMR vaccine and autism. If he comes clean now, he will expose deep crimes of the CDC. He will torpedo the ship. To succeed, he has to be strong. He has had ten years to consider how to go public. Express his own shame, remorse, and regret? Yes. But he mustn’t let his remorse make him so weak he can’t tell the truth in the forthright... more »
Mobilize – Finally A Documentary Depicting The Dangers Of Cell Phone Radiation
Dees Illustration Arjun Walia Cell phone use is only a couple of decades old, and just like anything else we use in this world, revelations regarding their use have not been properly examined and studied until now. The use of cellular phones has become the norm today for people of all ages, using it to stay connected and keep in touch with friends and family. Almost everyone you see today has a cell phone. That’s why it’s so important to share documentaries like this one which are just starting to surface. For example, a study conducted by the Massachusetts Aggression Reductio... more »

New Bill In Congress Would Ban Private Citizens From Owning Body Armor
Michael Snyder A new law that has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives "would prohibit the sale, transfer or possession of military-level body armor by civilians". In other words, private citizens all over the entire nation would be permanently banned from owning body armor if this bill gets passed and signed into law. The bill that I am talking about is H.R. 5344 (The Responsible Body Armor Possession Act), and you can view the proposed legislation for yourself right here. The driving force behind this new law is Democrat Mike Honda from California. To Honda, it... more »

CNN Caught Staging 'ISIS is Here' Psyop In Ferguson
*Dahboo77* 'ISIS is Here' sign strategically placed in the background of a CNN Ferguson production. If this isn't a deliberate psyop, don't you think this protester would have been seized by authorities or even other protesters? Or perhaps the protester is comparing police to terrorists by saying "ISIS is Here"? Either way, it seems odd. *Get truth delivered to your inbox every week.* Subscribe to GLOBAL POLITICAL AWAKENING by Email
NATO Using Foley and ISIS As A Pretext For Bombing Syria - Ultimate Target Is Russia
"Time for War" - Anthony Freda Art Brandon Turbeville The Islamic State and the war in Syria is back on the front pages of the news once again on the heels of the alleged killing of James Mark Foley, an American journalist working in Syria. The outrage surrounding the alleged beheading of Foley, while justifiable if it is real, is already being used for propaganda purposes, namely in order to build up American support for an aerial bombing campaign against the Syrian government. With this in mind, it is important to examine the facts surrounding the alleged execution of James Fol... more »
Rising Political Candidate Takes Firm Stance Against GMOs
Brandon Turbeville After years of leading the charge against genetically modified food, California now has its own anti-GMO/pro-organic political candidate. James Hinton, an Independent running for California’s US House District 5, has come out strong against the proliferation of GM food in the US food supply as well as in the environment. Hinton has also taken a strong stand in favor of GMO labeling. Hinton has received an impressive amount of support already, despite running against an opponent who is a career politician with a sizable campaign purse. Hinton has amassed en... more »
NO JOURNALISM, NO JUSTICE: Lawrence O’Donnell wins the week!
*FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 2014* *Part 5—Cable star is correct on one point, horribly wrong on another:* In theory, journalistic values are very important at a time like this. What actually happened in Ferguson? It’s very easy to make up a story—perhaps a simplistic, pleasing story. This can be done from different perspectives. Such stories have already emerged. It’s harder to ascertain basic facts. In theory, though, it’s important to take that journalistic approach at times like this. What actually happened in Ferguson? What are the actual facts? In our view, cable star Lawrence O’Donn... more »

States With Pro-Employee Laws: Discrimination Against Unemployed

Unfortunately, this also makes it an enticing target for those willing to engage in corrupt behavior and defraud the U.S. government. Fraud and bribery scandals have hit the Navy in recent years, including one involving the Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC), the primary provider of ocean transportation for the Navy and the rest of the U.S. Department of Defense. US Begins Selling "Syria Intervention" Using ISIS Pretext
*August 22, 2014* (Tony Cartalucci - LD) - In a previous report titled, "Growing Mayhem - US Operating on Both Sides of Syrian-Iraqi Border," it was reported that (emphasis added): *Clearly, the answer, left for readers to arrive at on their own, is that these "successful" US airstrikes in Iraq must be carried over into Syria - where mission creep can do the rest, finally dislodging the Syrian government from power after an ongoing proxy war has failed to do so since 2011. After arming and aiding the Kurds in fighting ISIS in Iraq, the US will attempt to make a similar argument re... more »
Americans again rate local schools higher than schools of the nation
Groundhog Day: Americans Again Rate Local Schools Higher than Schools of the Nation Stephen Krashen As is the case every year, the PDK/Gallup poll (September 2014) found that people rate their local schools much more positively than they do schools in the US in general. The differences, as usual, were striking: Fifty percent of respondents said they would give the public schools in their neighborhood a grade or A or B, but only 17% would give public schools in the nation A or B. When asked about the school their oldest child attends, 67% said they would give the school at A or... more »

What Is A 'Killer Robot'?
*So What Exactly Is a 'Killer Robot'? -- Rose Eveleth, The Atlantic* Why so many groups are against them, but haven't agreed on what they are For as long as we’ve been able to make robots, we’ve been worried about them killing us. In 1942, Isaac Asimov published a short story called Runaround that both coined the term "robotics" and introduced the idea of robots killing humans. Last week, one company set out to assure people that it, too, was worried about this potential threat. Clearpath Robotics announced that it would take a stand against killer robots. “To the people agains... more »

Official government estimates put the number of British Islamic State fighters operating in Syria and Iraq at up to 800. And, just because Hamas also happens to be an Islamic organisation, can it really be compared with IS or al-Qaeda? Federal documents show Harper's Conservatives are thwarting scientists' efforts to keep Canadians informed on Arctic ice levels
Federal scientists who keep a close eye on the Arctic ice would like to routinely brief Canadians about extraordinary events unfolding in the North. But newly released federal documents show the Harper government has been thwarting their efforts. In 2012, as the Arctic ice hit the lowest point ever recorded, scientists at the Canadian Ice Service were keen to tell Canadians about the stunning ice loss. “Less ice doesn’t mean less danger. In fact the opposite is true and there is greater need for ice information,” Leah Braithwaite, the service’s chief of applied science said in an Au... more »

When I began the Roswell investigation with Don Schmitt, I thought we’d find a solution quickly and that would be it. That didn’t happen, but as we talked with various witnesses, prowled various archives, museums and newspaper morgues, and found some limited documentation, it became clear that something had happened back in 1947. When I interviewed retired Brigadier General Arthur Exon on the telephone on May 19, 1990, I began the discussion by saying that we were doing some research into the activities at Wright – Patterson Air Force Base. Why The U.S. Special Forces Mission To Rescue James Foley And Others Failed
*Why US Special Forces Failed To Rescue James Foley -- Anna Mulrine, Christian Science Monitor* US intelligence officials still know relatively little about the workings of Islamic State militants. James Foley may have been traded by insurgent groups before ending up in IS hands, which complicates the intelligence picture. This is not intended as a discussion on how to make authentic chili. There are as many different chilis as there are chili makers. Sometime I make it with big chunks of stew meat, no beans, and add things like beer. Other times I make it with ground beef, pinto and kidney beans, with a few healthy splashes of burgundy wine. One thing I always use is a ton of chili powder, cumin, garlic, and parsley. When... more »
