Fox: Administration Has Settled on 3,000 Troops in Iraq Past 2011 Withdrawal Date
..... the military wanted to keep a whopping 27,000 troops in Iraq past the 2011 cutoff date, and then they “settled” for 10,000. So they are livid that the mission has been downgraded to training only. This means that the military essentially blew off a signed binational agreement, expected it to be dismissed and that they could have their forever war go on as long as they like.
I’m confident Barry will sneak in about 20,000 Blackwater XE “spray and pray” types at quadruple the cost to US taxpayers.
eCAHNomics September 6th, 2011 at 4:28 pm
What are all those peeps doing in the mega embassy and how many are armed.
U.S. doing same thing in Iraq & Afghanistan: “training” a military that the host country can’t afford, so they’ll have to “ask” U.S. to stay.
IIRC, Iraq has NO air force, and Iran does. So clearly U.S. will have to stay until Iraq’s air force is “trained.”
Muktada al Sadr, sometimes billed as essential for U.S. puppet Maliki to stay in power, has gone back & forth a couple of times on whether U.S. has to stay or go. Can’t remember the details that are on each side of that argument. I’m guessing that some “incident” happens bef end of year that allows all parties to agree to 27,000 or thereabouts, but I know nothing.
