Female wolf that traveled 8712 miles to find a mate is found dead
An endangered gray wolf known as OR-54 was found dead on Wednesday, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) announced in a statement. She had traveled over 7,646 throughout California since she broke from her pack in 2018. The female wolf was collared by biologists on October 2017 and was between 3 and 4 years old when she died, according to officials. She was found dead in Shasta County, Calif. One item not addressed here are claims in the news such as "rape is one of the most underreported crimes" or other similar wording. Depending on the phrasing, the claim seems utterly ludicrous. Jaywalking, for instance, is no doubt far more underreported than any form of violent assault. Even if the wording were "most underreported -violent- crime", I would expect that simple assault and/or battery would be far more common.

As a retired big city, urban police officer who worked the midnight shift for most of my career, I can attest to the fact that there are a large number of confirmed false accusations of rape, then there are those that sound dubious but may still be valid, we’ll never know for sure about them. Both deal with women enrolled in college. For college-aged women not enrolled in college, the figures are about 50% higher. The second half of both of these bullets are two ways of saying the same thing. Thank you for your kind words.

I am confused about a couple of points: * each year, about 0.2% of women enrolled in college explicitly state that they have been raped, but this figure grows to 1.0% if they are prompted with graphic descriptions of acts that fit the legal definition of rape. * each year, roughly 2.1% of college women say they have been the victim of acts that fit the legal definition of rape.
