The trial of the former Q host on CBC is well underway. Five days so far of mediocre prosecutorial presentations while on the adversarial side, the best Grand Guignol cross-examination that defence lawyer Marie Henein is capable of executing. Fiction: the hottest topic of all (Published in Literacy Today)
Published in Literacy Today, Jan/Feb 2015 The Sept/Oct, 2015 issue of Literacy Today contains somewhat contradictory messages: reading "informational texts" is considered "a hot topic" that "should be hot," a view that coincides with the common core's heavy focus on nonfiction ("What's hot in 2016"). 2002, “Falling Through Time” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8Qa02s34Hc "How small a portion of our life it is that we really enjoy. In youth, we are looking forward to things that are to come; in old age, we are looking backwards to things that are gone past; in manhood, although we appear indeed to be more occupied in things that are present, yet even that is too often absorbed in vague determinations to be vastly happy on some future day, when we have time." - Charles Caleb Colton

When you're younger you feel: "Hey, this person is evil" or "This person is a jerk" or stupid or "What's wrong with them?" Then you go through life and you think: "Well, it's not so easy." U.S. ED Gives Billions More for Segregation Than Diversity
After incentivizing segregation with billions in spending for charter schools over the past 7 years, Obama's 2017 proposed budget gives a one-time pittance ($120 million) in comparison to encourage socioeconomic diversity in schools. Part C of the new states rights version of ESEA "includes federal funding for charter schools, which would increase the annual commitment from $253 million in 2015 to $300 million by 2020." All of that comes on top of the $157 million that Arne Duncan arranged as his parting gift to the charter industry last September.

Angus Dalgleish warns health tourist migrants are leaving the NHS at breaking point per Daily Mail Online
Something you won't see or hear reported by the pro unlimited immigration BBC. 'The NHS has been left 'on its knees' by uncontrolled migration from the EU, a leading cancer expert will warn tomorrow. Professor Angus Dalgleish, the principal of the Cancer Vaccine Institute, says the NHS is being bled dry of resources by health tourists denied care at home. Cancer treatment can cost £200,000 and, under Brussels rules, Britain has to offer it to all EU nationals. Professor Dalgleish says this partly explains the NHS's £3billion deficit. New Hampshire Now: What Voters Should Be Thinking About As They Make Their Final Decisions
Lots of progressive organizations are making a big deal out of Hillary Clinton taking a pledge to not cut Social Security. MSNBC Maddow blogger Steve Benen featured it on their blog yesterday. What's next? "Hillary Clinton is not still a Republican?" Yes, it's good she made the pledge-- second nature to progressives like Bernie but a real stretch to a multimillionaire corporatist like her-- especially when so many of her congressional Leadership Team back cuts. How Asthma Develops From Exposure to House Dust Mites
The good news is that we are developing biological pathways to explain it all. dust mites are persuasive everywhere and this makes localizing its effect difficult. This made actual handling impossible for myself. I then applied a saturation ozone treatment. This had the effect of eliminating all allergic response. The World Is More Educated Than It’s Ever Been—How?
This is one trend that keeps rising as it should. Whether it produces the same quality is almost irrelevant. What it does do is establish who can be trusted with leadership. Simply put, it determines professional income production as against trade income production. A factor of two easily applies and over at least forty years. What Happened When Saudi Arabia Closed its Borders to Christian Immigrants
The take home is that you cannot win this game. The only restraint that works is the actual cost and even that is almost meaningless when folks sell themselves into slavery in order to go. Theorists Propose a New Method to Probe the Beginning of the Universe
My own Cloud Cosmology begins with a first action and near exponential expansion that is time and volume dependent in the three dimensional world. The first action produces a neutral neutrino and a sphere of complex curvature producing geometry capable of decaying into additional neutral neutrinos on an ongoing basis. I call this the first tier of matter and it is plausible that it is continuously producing new neutral neutrinos at a decaying rate. Thus the first tier of matter may be considered as the tier of continuous creation. I propose this conjecture because is it plaus... more »

Add in the switching on of an additional light coinciding with its immediate disappearance and it really looks like a deliberate act that is essentially beyond our present technology. 2 The bright lighting allowed excellent observation and this all conforms to th... more »

News Report Suggests Chinese Leadership Disavows Persecution of Falun Gong
[image: Former leader of China Jiang Zemin (L) and current leader Xi Jinping. (Wang Zhao & Hagen Hopkins/Getty Images)] It is noteworthy that when China changes course, it tries to do so while avoiding the stirring up of factions with real skin in the game. This means that there is a longish process of elimination of key participants. At least losing an election all anticipate a clean and quick sweep. Here we have a slow sweep. Without much question, this purge has everything to do with the methods used in suppressing Falun Gong which can never be disclosed. However, the prese... more »

Saudi Invasion Of Syria May Spark World War 3
The Saudi Arabia plan to send ground troops into Syria could be a cover for sparking military action between Russia and the United States – a situation that will likely spiral into World War 3. Saudi Arabia have threatened to send in 150,000 troops to invade Syria on the pretext of ‘fighting terrorism’ and to defeat ISIS. Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem has warned that Saudi’s presence in Syria would be interpreted as an “act of aggression” and that Syrian forces would respond by sending troops back in “wooden coffins”. RT.com reports: Nevertheless, US President Barack Ob... more »
Mandatory Depression Screening Coming To America
Ron Paul has slammed plans for a “mandatory depression screening” for all Americans – which is currently being proposed by the United States Preventive Services Task Force. Ron Paul says that these mandatory screenings will allow the government to keep a big brother style central database that lists every ‘mentally ill’ person in America, which could then be used to deprive individuals of their Second Amendment rights. Ronpaulinstitute.org reports: Basic economics, as well as the Obamacare disaster, should have shown this task force that government health insurance mandates harm Am... more »

*“At Home In An Infinite Universe”* by Chet Raymo “They are questions that bedeviled thinkers for thousands of years: Is the universe infinite or finite, eternal or of a finite age? It is certainly hard to imagine a universe that extends without limit in every direction, or a universe without a beginning or end. It is equally difficult to imagine a finite universe; what is beyond the edge? Or a beginning or end in time; how can something come from nothing? how can what is cease to be? The problems are so intractable philosophically that their resolution has generally been left to ... more »

Hillary Clinton: It's the Politics, Stupid
