Was looking at the Helioviewer online and noticed this giant triangle UFO
leaving our sun. It exit caused a massive solar explosion. I say in the
video that the UFO is moon size, but in the lower left corner is the earths
size...which is smaller than this mothership. I have a cold so sorry about

I was in Afghanistan twice, both times for extended stays, the first being
in 1969. Over the years, I've written a few disparate posts about it on my
travel blog but 45 years later, I'm still processing the Afghan experience
and trying to make some sense out of it. I always recall that my initial
thought was that I wasn't just driving my VW van across space-- Europe,
Turkey, Iran and into Afghanistan-- but across time as well. There was

A Pottersville Christmas
It all started after dinner with my kids last night with a visit to
the new home of my former Chilean neighbor (the ex-Pinochet henchman who
loves to sing karaoke). They have a six year-old yellow Lab named Max who's
a sweetheart, as all yellow Labs are. This is Max attacking his
Flintstone-sized rawhide chew, just one item in a stocking I packed with
goodies.
Max again. He had that thing halfway chewed down by the time we left a
few hours later.
