Alien Introspections
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
An alien introspection happens to be welcome about now while we wait for the ultimate shoe to drop. The TEN days of darkness is supposed to end yesterday. Up until now we have had disquieting rumors of disloyalty here and there. Yet this process has been orchestrated in order to flush them all out. so we must really trust the plan. I do think that my GEAS will soon be liberated and I can get on with the task of ending global poverty as a starter. The break taking place will be that Epochal. Yet it is also curious to write these words to throw them to the wind.. New know...
Solitude and Meditation
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
A short discussion here addressing these acts of being. Both demand disconnecting from your social enviroment and that happens to be a big thing. It literally has to be learned. We practice meditation often with a group to supply a possible group support to drive us. Solitude is much more personal and sets the stage more propertly for contemplative meditation. Walking down the road on autopilot works just as well and is I find the most powerful of all. New idewas flow then most freely. Please seek solitude every day and enter into contemplation. It may well be the most im...
How could ancient people manage to live with extreme cold in Europe with no heating services available today?
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
It was not as difficult as it appears. first though the actual dwelling area was small. Better yet, in europe they brought the cattle in downstairs while they slept on a second floor under the roof. Theor kitchen stone work would also throw of heat all night. Without the animals, they used a stone stove construction to hold a fire on the ground floor. Wood was the main fuel supply and we have ample references on all that. This is still pretty primative but was improved upon with the Franklin stove and real cooking stoves developed during the eighteenth and nineteenth cent...

Hitler and Stalin Wrestled for Stalingrad - and the Fate of the World
Warfare History Network, The National Interest - 20 hours ago
*Warfare History Network* *History, Eurasia* [image: Wikimedia Commons] It will never be known how many people died at Stalingrad. Some postwar estimates claim that Chuikov lost over a million soldiers in his effort to hold the city, but that figure is almost certainly exaggerated. Still, the loss of life was appalling. After Adolf Hitler’s audacious invasion of Russia finally ground to a halt in December 1941 on the forested outskirts of Moscow, the exhausted German Army stabilized its winter front in a line running roughly from Leningrad in the north to Rostov in the south. Congress Lifts Ban on Pell Grants to Prisoners: A Good Idea or Not?
Andrea Cantora, The National Interest - 20 hours ago
*Andrea Cantora* *Criminal Justice System, The Americas* Now that Pell grants are being restored for the incarcerated, it is expected that 64% of people in state and federal prison – or half a million people – will be eligible for federal student aid. When Congress decided in 1994 to ban federal student aid for people behind bars, it was part of a wider political agenda to “get tough on crime” – even though crime rates had begun to fall in the 1990s. The number of people behind bars grew, but, without access to federal student aid, higher education programs in America’s correctio...
The F-35 is Making Allied Air Forces Stronger Than Ever
Philip Breedlove, Scott Swift, The National Interest - 20 hours ago
*Philip Breedlove, Scott Swift* *F-35, * In addition to survivability and lethality, more countries are seeking interoperability with friends and allies, and the F-35 delivers in this crucially important area. The U.S. State Department recently gave the green light to Finland and Switzerland to purchase the F-35 aircraft. It’s not a fait accompli – the F-35 still needs to win each country's competitions. Still, it's telling that two friendly but non-NATO European countries are seriously considering adopting America's 5th generation, front-line fighter as their own. The interest ...

Davis* *History, Europe* [image: Wikimedia Commons] The final tally of the losses on each side would seem to have favored the attackers — the Germans lost 343 tanks while the Russians sustained staggering losses: 177,847 men, 1,600 armored vehicles and 460 aircraft. Yet the Soviets, with the assistance of American industrial might, proved able to replace all the tanks and aircraft in short order. In 1939, and again in 1940, Adolf Hitler ignored the advice of his cautious generals and decisively ordered bold, creative plans to invade Poland and France, respectively. Hi...
In Yugoslavia, World War II Didn't End on V-E Day
Elliot Short, The National Interest - 1 day ago
*Elliot Short* *History, Europe* [image: Wikimedia Commons] The Battle of Odžak ended 16 days after the Allies had celebrated victory in Europe. Yugoslav authorities kept the battle secret until 1971. The small town of Odžak is nestled between the Bosna and Sava rivers, in the north of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina. To the north and east, a handful of villages spread over the plains, while to the south and west a few shallow inclines lead into the foothills of Vučjak Mountain. Today the town is a quiet place, only worthy of note due to a large Bosnian flag — allegedly one o...
Fact: Japan Needs All the F-35s It Can Get
Kris Osborn, The National Interest - 1 day ago
*Kris Osborn* *Security, Americas* China has turned East Asia into a dangerous neighborhood. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *A larger fleet of F-35 jets would also give Japan much greater reach, scope and territorial advantage as larger numbers of F-35 jets, engineered with high-fidelity, long-range sensors networked to one another through a common data link, would vastly expand the potential reach of any kind of large-scale engagement with China. China’s much larger size and geographical advantage could be mitigated or offset by larger numbers of dispersed, yet interoperable...

*"Delusions of Grandeur… Or Cloak of Modesty?"* By Bill Bonner "A dear reader objects to our use of the “royal we”: “Hello Bill, for the most part, I enjoy reading your Diary. However, I do find your use of the ‘royal we’ in all your writings very off-putting. Even though I’m Canadian, I despise the monarchy, and I’m sure that many in your great republic to the south share my feelings on this. Am I missing something? Has it already been explained, perhaps? If not, what is the rationale for this?” The Queen uses the “royal we” to signify that she is not speaking for herself, but fo...

The Fate Of Press Freedom To Be Decided On January 4
Terrace, PopularResistance.Org - 1 day ago
Judge Vanessa Baraitser will announce her decision on the United States' request to extradite Julian Assange on January 4. Assange faces 18 charges, 17 of them under the Espionage Act, which has been weaponized to go after journalists who expose war crimes and other truths the United States wants to keep secret. If he is extradited, it will end press freedom as we know it. Any journalist anywhere in the world will know they could face similar consequences if they expose the US government. I speak with Kevin Gosztola of Shadowproof, who has been following the extradition process clo...

The Authority to Heal
Brian-Admin, Health Impact News - 1 day ago
The subject of "authority" and health is one that affects every living person on the planet today, and everyone reading this article. Here in the 21st Century, various government agencies regulate "health" and operate under laws and regulations as to just who has the authority to practice healing. "Health" of course is generally defined today as "practicing medicine," and the authority given by government to "practice medicine" is tightly controll...
