The Stark COVID Contrast Between Government and Free People
Economists rarely get to run field experiments for the whole economy. And thank goodness for that, because field experiments can be very damaging. But the coronavirus that every American has been dealing with for the last month has given us as close to a field experiment as we’re ever likely to get. In particular, […] The post The Stark COVID Contrast Between Government and Free People appeared first on Econlib.

Who is Controlling the U.S. Response to COVID19: The White House or Bill Gates?
The headline to this article, "Who is Controlling the U.S. Response to COVID19: The White House or Bill Gates?," may seem sensational to some, and some might even accuse me of "click bait." Often when we write articles that put forward an opinion and there are not enough known facts to support a possible conclusion to a statement or premise, as journalists we make the statement into a question, because the fact is we don't truly know, although we have suspicions based on the available evidence. However, my intent in what I write today, is to present enough evidence so that by the t... more »

"Finding Our Way Back..."
“Biology says that we are who we are from birth. That our DNA is set in stone. Unchangeable. Our DNA doesn't account for all of us though, we're human. Life changes us. We develop new traits. Become less territorial. We start competing. We learn from our mistakes. We face our greatest fears. For better or worse, we find ways to become more than our biology. The risk of course is that we can change too much to the point where we don't recognize ourselves. Finding our way back can be difficult. There's no compass, no map. We just have to close our eyes, take a step, and hope to God w... more »

4 Zookeepers Isolate At Wildlife Park To Care For The Animals
Extraordinary times call for exceptional measures. 4 Zookeepers at a wildlife sanctuary in Hayle, Cornwall, UK, have decided to go into self-isolation for 12 weeks to take care of the animals. Moving into a zoo might seem like an unconventional approach, but the Keepers believed it is what’s needed to make sure that all the animals receive the love and care they use to. In Short, I'm Unhappy With the Democrat Result
So here we are. Joe Biden is the worst possible Democratic candidate for public education; only Blomberg would have been worse. It's possible that Biden so closely resembles an establishment Republican that traditional GOP members who are appalled by Trump will vote Biden. If there are any significant number. The campaign will be awful and stupid and largely pointless, because Trump's supporters will stick by him, firmly insulated by Fox against any facts that don't fit their love of Beloved Leader. There can't be more than three or four undecided votes in the country, which means ... more »

*Peter Suciu* *History, * She helped sink the biggest battleship to ever set sail. And that's just for starters. "Intrepid" means "fearless, undaunted, adventurous," and all those words could certainly describe the World War II aircraft carrier that is now a floating museum on New York City's West Side. Commissioned in August 1943 the *USS Intrepid* (CV-11) was the fourth ship to bear the name, but perhaps the one to earn it most. The keel for the *Essex-*class *USS Intrepid* was laid down just six days before the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, and upon completion, she immedi... more »

Why the Purge of the Intelligence Inspectors General Matters
*Paul R. Pillar* *Security, Americas* [image: Reuters] Destroying objectivity at the top and hamstringing what objectivity survives below while attempting to turn the community into a political handmaiden of Trump. The understandable national preoccupation with the COVID-19 pandemic means insufficient attention to, and outrage about, other nasty things that are happening. This is true of President Donald Trump’s firing of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson. The only plausible explanation for the timing of this move, made late on a Friday night, is to take ... more »

Singapore Syndrome: Will Britain be made great again and at what cost
In addition to the already accomplished Brexit, the list of ambitious ideas of the London conservatives included one more – attractive and frightening overnight. In an effort to show the benefits of free trade outside the restrictive framework of the European Union, the Tories actively promoted the concept of Singapore-on-Temsa. But financial freedom also has […] More The post Singapore Syndrome: Will Britain be made great again and at what cost appeared first on The Duran.
Bye-Bye Bernie
The biggest rationale for Bernie Sanders staying in the race was the very real possibility that Joe Biden might collapse, either physically or mentally, before Election Day. With so many states cancelling primaries due to the coronavirus pandemic, Biden reaching the requisite majority is doubtful. The Democratic National Committee likely will still have had to change its rules to allow the loathsome "I'm the guy" guy with the most votes to become the nominee of the party. Forget about the dreaded second ballot. There won't even be a first ballot, whether at a public convention or ... more »
What the hell is going on?...
*inquiring minds want to know!* This morning a friend on Facebook sent me by private message a video of a rather passionate (highly excitable?) doctor who was going batsh*t over the lies we're being told about the virus. I shared it privately and also posted it to my timeline. *Guess what?* It's now gone. Gone, not available, kaput, as in disappeared. *Update:* It's resurfaced again. My friend re-posted it and I shared it again. How long will it stay up? If the sheeples in this country have not twigged to the devastation being caused by the lies of the commie/libtards then they c... more »
