"Tea party" activists drawn to Williamsburg and its portrayal of Founding Fathers

"I want to get to know our Founding Fathers," he added. "I think we've forgotten them. It's like we've almost erased them from history."
It's a common point of view among tea party activists. They say their unhappiness with Washington reflects how far the federal government has strayed, through taxation and regulation, from the Founders' intentions.

Documents indicate heavy use of dispersants in gulf oil spill
The Obama administration issued an order that limited the spreading of controversial dispersant chemicals on the Gulf of Mexico's surface. Their use, officials said, should be restricted to "rare cases." Federal documents show the use of dispersants wasn't rare at all.

Iraqis don't expect political impasse to be resolved by fall

Leading Iraqi politicians say they have all but abandoned hope of resolving an impasse over forming a new government before fall. "Now, everything is stopped," said Nadjha Khadum, the editor of the Ur News agency Web site. "There's no work, no jobs. People are waiting. People are just buying food and saving money because they are afraid the situation will get worse in the future -- worse than in 2006 and 2007," years marked by a brutal insurgency.

Wiki-Tiki-Tavi? The Mongoose Is Loose

n our United States of Amnesia there is a thin, carefully manufactured line between truth and spin, between real and computer-generated and, apparently, between heroes and traitors. In covert America, a society now built upon distrust of everyone and everything, our government consistently lets us down by leaving us unprotected ... kowtowing to corporations instead of blowing the whistle on them. The traffic cops of industry who used to man federal regulatory agencies have been replaced by lobbyists from the very industries the government was supposed to monitor.

Regular citizens are out of work, tired, broke and confused ... perfectly set up for fomenting division and over-stimulating us to the point of fatigue and indifference. Frankly, Americans don't have anyone to trust, and they know it. How did we get here?

China investment in Iran worries US
The US and its Western allies accuse Iran of seeking a military nuclear program. Tehran rejects the charges, stressing that as a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty it will not forgo its right to peaceful nuclear technology.
( And I accuse the West of systematic bullshit with premeditated malice aforethought. )

Wikileaks: a threat to National Security!
http://politically-confused.blogspot.com
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” - attributed (disputedly) to Joseph Goebbels

There is no greater threat to 'national security', than truth and openness. Therefore it follows that all 'national security' is based on lies, and thus the fox is guarding the henhouse, so to speak. This is a fact that people who have succumbed to the militarist fetish fail to see.
